Privacy Policy

Semestra ("the app") is a study assistant for students: it shows their Google Classroom assignments and helps them understand an assignment, prepare a draft and format the work as a Word document (Ukrainian DSTU standard) and Excel with AI models. The app runs at https://semestra.pro. It is not affiliated with Google.

Data we access

• Google account: name, email and profile photo — to show who is signed in.
• Google Classroom (read-only): your courses, coursework and your own submissions, course materials, announcements and topics, and the names of course teachers.
• Google Drive: only files created by the app (finished work and spreadsheets) and files you explicitly select in the Google Picker. The app cannot access the rest of your Drive.
• Moodle (optional, read-only): if you connect your university's Moodle — your courses, assignments, assignment files, submission status and grades, and course teachers' names. Your Moodle username and password are used once to obtain an access key and are not stored.

How we use it

• To display your assignments, due dates, grades, teachers and materials.
• When you click "Prepare" or "Redo", the assignment text, selected materials and course lectures, and your instructions are sent to an AI model to prepare a draft and formatting.
• To save the finished work (Google Docs, Word, Excel) to a "Semestra" folder in your own Google Drive.

Sharing

To generate text, assignment content is sent to OpenRouter and the provider of the selected model, solely to fulfil your request and only to providers that do not retain prompts or use them for model training (the app does not use any other providers). We do not sell data or show ads on the site. Apart from OpenRouter, data is shared only with Google Analytics and Meta — for analytics and traffic attribution, and only with your consent (see below).

Analytics and traffic attribution (consent only)

• If you accept in the cookie banner, the app uses Google Analytics 4 and the Meta Pixel (and, for a confirmed payment, the Meta Conversions API and Google Analytics Measurement Protocol).
• The purpose is visit statistics and traffic attribution: understanding which source or ad a user came from and whether it led to a sign-up or plan purchase, and telling Meta and Google which ads worked so they are shown to people who find the service useful.
• Sent: pages visited, referral source (UTM, fbclid, gclid), IP address, browser and device data, cookie identifiers (_ga, _fbp, _fbc) and events — sign-up, viewing plans, starting checkout and purchase (plan, amount, currency, order number).
• Never sent: your Google Account email, name or photo, any Google Classroom or Google Drive data, assignment or work text.
• Without consent these services are not loaded. You can change your choice at any time via "Cookie settings" at the bottom of the page. See the Cookie Policy.

Storage and retention

• The app's database (Supabase, EU servers) stores: your email, name and profile photo; usage statistics — request time, selected model, token counts and error messages (to enforce the daily limit and fix failures); your sign-in session including Google access tokens — for up to 7 days or until you sign out.
• Assignment texts, materials and finished work are not stored in the database.
• Plan payments: for each payment we store your email, plan, amount, date, term and transaction ID; for USDT also the sender wallet address (already public on the TRON blockchain). To find a card transfer, the app reads the site owner's Monobank card statement solely to find an incoming transfer with the exact amount; the sender's name and card details are not stored. The app has no access to your wallet or card. If you accepted marketing cookies, the order also stores cookie identifiers (_fbp, _fbc, _ga), IP address and browser data, to report the payment to Meta and Google.
• Referral program: your referral code, who invited you (the inviter's email) and a log of credited bonus days.
• Moodle: the Moodle site address, your Moodle name and id, and the access key (stored encrypted) — until you click "Disconnect Moodle". Moodle data, like Google data, is not shared with analytics or advertising.
• Donations via the Monobank jar are processed by Monobank; the app does not receive your card details or know who donated.
• Finished work is stored only in your Google Drive.
• Settings, signature details and per-assignment notes are stored only in your browser (localStorage).
• A temporary in-memory cache of assignments and materials lives for up to 10 minutes.

Deletion and revoking access

• Revoke the app's access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
• Delete the "Semestra" folder in your Google Drive to remove created files.
• Sign out and clear site data in your browser to remove local settings.
• To delete your account record and usage statistics from the database, email us below — we delete them within 7 days.

Limited Use

Semestra's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Google user data is not used to develop, improve, or train generalized AI/ML models. Data obtained through Google APIs (including email, name, Classroom and Drive data) is not transferred to Google Analytics, Meta or any other advertising or analytics service and is not used for advertising, retargeting or interest-based ads.
